Bagamoyo is the oldest town in Tanzania and one of the world heritage site in the country. Its history is influenced by Indians and Arabs traders, the Germany colonial and missionaries. The town is located about 70km from Dar-es-Salaam. The town, which lies beside beautiful Indian Ocean beaches, has several points of interest which can be visited over the course of few days. The best way to see Bagamoyo is on foot, and the ideal first stop after is the department of Arts and Antiquities, located in an old German fort. A tour guide will join you at the fort, and will be your companion for the entire time you are visiting the sites. With white sands beaches and other historical places, the town is the perfect destination if you want to get away for few days to a more quiet and relaxing spot.
Dar es Salaam (or Dar) is the largest city in Tanzania along the Indian Ocean. The city is a center for the central government as well as home to most foreign missions and embassies in the country. With the largest port in the country and busiest in East Africa, the city is also the gateway to Zanzibar or Southern circuit for Safari and other destination. The city has a lot to offer when it comes to leisure time with rich and vibrant cultures. On the city shore you will find Coco Beach. Tanga is one of the oldest city in Tanzania, sitting along the Indian Ocean. Its history goes back to the 1800s years when the Germans chose as their military post for East Africa region.
